Mercer Patterson Quintet

$15The Mercer Patterson Quintet, hailing from Michigan, will perform new contemporary originals as well as post-bop favorites.
The Mercer Patterson Quintet is a contemporary jazz ensemble originating in the Metro Detroit area. They play originals written by all members of the band, and they are influenced by a wide range of styles and artists, including Herbie Hancock, Frank Zappa, and Steve Lehman. Having formed the quintet in their freshman year at the University of Michigan, the members have had the opportunity to study and receive guidance from the likes of Terrell Stafford, Robert Hurst, Brian Lynch, Andy Milne, Ellen Rowe, Caroline Davis, and Chuck Bergeron. They have toured across the country and performed at notable venues including the Detroit Jazz Festival, Ravenscroft, Shapeshifter Lab, Mr. Tipples, and Aspen-Snowmass Jazz.
